A Timeless Cycle for
Circular Design

In a nutrient-rich environment, microorganisms craft ultra-crystalline patterns

With the introduction of natural agents a 3D super-structure begins to form

From this 100% bio-based foundation we derive LUNAFORM.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • LUNAFORM™ is a new kind of biomaterial, developed by GOZEN. Derived from nanocellulose, it is produced by microorganisms during fermentation.

  • During a process of controlled fermentation, microorganisms produce cellulose. Following the introduction of natural agents, a nanocellulose lattice begins to form. From this GOZEN derives a uniquely strong and flexible biopolymer. This material, known as LUNAFORM™, provides a bio-based foundation for modern design.

  • LUNAFORM™ unlocks a range of uses across biodesign. The material has been successfully deployed in commercial-grade apparel, furniture and accessories, so far.

  • Yes, LUNAFORM™ is considered cruelty-free as it is derived from the activity of microorganisms - which are not sentient. This is similar to how products like fermented foods are classified.

The GOZEN Way

As a designer, Ece Gozen was inspired by how nature forms materials, and how new technologies promised to emulate these natural processes. After making a novel discovery in the field of biomimicry, she developed our core technology. GOZEN was born.

We are storytellers, makers, dreamers and do-ers. We explore patterns between nature and technology, on a mission to reshape the world around us. We create materials to change minds, pushing the boundaries of what's possible and serving as statements of change.
